Truth

Today I am going to write about a sensitive issue to some. I am writing about the war against Palestine specifically on boycotting products coming from companies contributing to Israel. So yes, extremely sensitive topics to some. Knowing how verbal I can be, please do not proceed reading if you cant handle the truth.

I posted this 4-5 days ago on my fb wall and of course as expected it ignited some displeasure from boycotters. The first one was this one:-

"bukan McD je la.. knp asyik suruh boybott mcd je? byk lg.. nk buat, buat betul2.. boycott la semua ni if u think it would make any difference. jgn boycott skrg je, boycott smpi bila2.. kleenex, scott, kotex, coca-cola, sprite, nestea, 100plus, dasani mineral water, minute maid, nestum, nescafe, milo, cerelac, koko crunch, honey stars, nespray, kitkat, matkool, maggi, semua products yg pki intel, semua disney products & channels, marks&spencer, tesco, carrefour, estee lauder, danone, johnson&johnson, revlon, garnier, huggies, maybelline, GAP, clinique, IBM, nokia, hewlett packet, starbucks, friskies, oral B, Nike, Apple products (ipod, ipad), marlboro, kodak, pampers, vicks, harpic, friskies, CNN, kfc, levis and bykkkkkkk lagiiiiii.... plg best is FACEBOOK! yg kelakarnya bila bagi free nak pulak.. sama je korang beli or korang amik free la..

so apa kita berdoa for the palestinians (dlm hati, bkn pki social media). lagi bagus dr act like you're holier-than-thou..

p/s: m sure ramai yg bengang with my statements.. but think about it b4 meletup k.. tq.."

skali ramai plak yg agreed with me.. thanx guys.. u know who u are.. ^_^

then i posted this:-

"a list updated in june 2012 for those who wants to boycott these brands.. i hope that if you choose to boycott, please do so smpi bila2.. i do respect those who can do this throughout. and there are ppl that i knw who are able to do this for the last 2-3 yrs.

i myself admit that there are some brands i cannot live without, for reasons i do not have to share with u, and there are some brands that i dont mind substituting with other brands. but if i cant, i cant.. m not a hypocrite to canang sana sini nk boycott itu ini support mcm2 and at the end of the day when the war dies down for a while, start balik purchase & consume/use these products. and yes, whether we like it or not, most malaysians are like this - trend followers.

if we really wanna help, then do so. help. donate to them. doing nothing is not helping them with anything. do something about it. something that will make a difference. seriously, even a blanket will help a child.. there is no such thing as a small favour."

this is my 2 cents and humble point of view. i meant every word i said above. i respect those who wants to try and avoid purchasing products above. what i DO NOT respect are these kinda ppl:-

> making so much noise about the boycott. esp for only 1 brand when there are hundreds of brands and products to be boycott. if u wanna do it, then do it right.

> making so much excuses for buying or patronizing the brand/premise AFTER da bising sana sini.

> nak boycott tp bila diaorg offer something free bole pulak amik??? dgn alasan sbb free? are u even listening to yourselves???

> seasonal boycotters. time ni je la boycott. bila d story da senyap, tiba2 lupa nk boycott da eh???

> those acting holier-than-thou when i know exactly what kind of persons they are! pls la.. hypocrite giler siot..

> those yg boycott calling ppl yg not with them a hypocrite. there are bigger issues than tat..

> those who thinks they are doing something by doing nothing. what???

to me the funniest is when they are doing this all by using facebook. via their phones/computers that are powered by those brands that they're suppose to boycott. ada yang rasa by boycotting and sebarkan the word using fb are doing something, but arent u just making fb and their advertisers richer by still using fb?

facebook : yes it is free FOR YOU. maybe tats y u think it is ok. coz ure malaysian, u suck up to free stuff. but what u may not know is fb runs on advertisers. if you boycotters really wanna boycott, deactivate yr accounts, then it will affect fb as not many traffic are coming in. however the more u use fb, the happier fb is by the traffic. tats their tool to pull in advertisers.

take hypermarkets for example. you make so much noise about boycotting this and that and yet when tesco offers free vouchers u dont think twice to enter the competition kan? even tho u only stood a CHANCE of winning. u didnt think because rm500 worth of voucher can feed your family for 1-2 mths. its a lot of money saved. u're still not justifying yr actions sbnrnyer. and going to tesco or carrefour tp tak purchase those brands is good enough eh? nape tak gi giant je? kena ke pegi tesco??

mmg la tak mati tak makan mcd. most ppl dont eat mcd everyday pun.. so why so much noise? starbucks, mmg bole opt for other brands, do so then.. tak yah nk bising sgt.. and nestle products? good luck finding another brand with equivalent quality and taste for some products..

now let me make this clear. I DO NOT OPPOSE AGAINST BOYCOTT ISRAEL CAMPAIGN. i just dont see why we should make so much noise and debate with one another when there are so much more we can do to help our fellow muslims. boycotting them means we are risking our nation's economy as well. many of malaysians lives depends on these companies. their job is there, their family depends on the salaries provided by these companies.

this will make a difference if this is done: if the whole muslim population unite and boycott these products together then it will work. then it will dampen the jew's economy. then the jews will be scared of us. and m not talking about muslims in malaysia saje.. m talking about muslim from the whole world. if the whole muslim population unite and fight against the zionis. however sadly, the muslim population is as divided as ever. even in our own country pun divided, lg la nak harapkan the whole to unite. tis is the sad truth.

so yes, many ppl might say that the little act of boycott even 1 brand will make a difference. some samakan this situation dgn cerita Nabi Ibrahim about the little bird who tried to put out a big fire with its little beak. because Allah does not question whether the fire is being put out, but what the bird did. the little bird carried water. it did something. it is NOT AT ALL the same as you trying to boycott 1 brand. it is apple and orange.

from my 2 cents, donating towards the cause is similar to the little bird because you are contributing something. think about it.

jgn suka2 nak panggil kitaorg stupid just because some ppl say you wont change anything by boycotting 1 brand. we're are stating from the economic point of view, and being true to ourselves. and jgn suka2 nk judge us juz because we say these things. it doesnt mean that we're not trying to do anything. we just dont think everybody in our fb needs to know what we do to contribute. it is between us and Allah.

so when you feel you need to justify on your wall when you purchase or patronize those companies, think again about exactly what you're doing. when you feel you need to tell people how much you donate, think again whether announcing to ppl is right just to prove yr point. are u the hypocrite or us.

as for the judging part, lets leave it to Allah as tat is his job, not yours to do so.

everytime tis happens, i miss Che Det more than ever. he is the only one who can unite the muslims towards an Islamic cause no matter what everybody else say about him.
