perineal massage: what, why and how..

one of the things i am scared most about giving birth is the cutting process included during labor, or in medical terms is called episiotomy. i have been told about this even wayyyy before i got married which was why i got soooo scared whenever i think about giving birth. however, that doesnt deter me from wanting a natural birth for my baby. no matter how scary it is, i feel like i have to experience it at least once in my lifetime.

then a friend told me before she was due she rubbed minyak kelapa dara/virgin coconut oil at the V area.. she did it and she didnt need to cut anything. bestnya!!! hehehe.. good thing about tis is since there is no cutting, there will be no stitching hence healing process is faster too.

so i started googling on this. rupanyer it is quite a common practice amongst pregnant women ek.. maybe not in my circle of friends, but if we google, berlambak2 info kuar.. tp semua website omputih.. kalau google dlm BM tak kuar lak.. yg kuar is utk lepas bersalin, or utk menaikkan syahwat.. chettt.. anyways, i will not elaborate on this topic since there are already many on the net. for more info you can read them here:-

2) by ivillage
3) by babycenter
4) and from midwife.org

however, reading about it still left me clueless as to how exactly to do it.. nasib baik ada video..  you can watch the video and if sempat (for preggers) sila la buat.. hehe..

i got myself tanamera postnatal set and inside tat set ada minyak kelapa dara and a detailed instruction on when to do the massage. as for me, i should start on my 30th week.. i really2 hope usaha ni berbaloi.. :)

wish me luck!!
