remember my colleague who lost her 2.5 mths old son recently at the nursery she sent her son? we just found out his cause of death - sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) or cot death or crib death..
i dont wanna elaborate about this panjang2, u can just google and read about SIDS. wat i wanna write about here is what i think we should do for ayra to prevent tis. i know, kalau da ajal nk buat caner. but at least we do something rather than doing nothing kan..
unfortunately one of the factors of higher risk in SIDS is baby boys.. so those yg ada baby boys pls be extra cautious k..
i learned that to reduce baby's risk, where and how the baby sleeps is very important. one important factor is to make her cot as bare/naked as possible - kalau bole tilam n bedsheet saje. no additional bantals, plush toys, blankets, etc yg bole melemaskan baby. ok tis one mmg kitaorg buat, reason being we want her to hv as much room as possible, xtau plak can reduce the risk of SIDS jugak.. tilam pun kena tilam yang betul.. insyaAllah the tilam we hv is firm enough for ayra la..

we have been putting ayra to sleep on her tummy since she could raise her own head herself. but rupanyer to reduce risk of SIDS, babies aged 2-3 mths have to sleep on their backs. kitaorg plak trained ayra to sleep on her tummy as adviced by both mothers, and ayra mmg da pandai turn her own head and angkat kepala since 2 mths old lg.. so after finding out about tis, we tried to let ayra sleep on her back. unfortunately she is not comfortable. asyik terjaga jer. totally the opposite when she sleeps on her tummy, she'll sleep much better and tak cranky2 pun.. so for ayra's comfort we continue with tis sleeping position la kut.. of course we check on her every 2 hours or so..

lg satu is to avoid sleeping in the same bed.. our room is small. her cot cant fit in the room. so sometimes i will sleep in the living room while ayra sleep in her cot. but if we sleep in our room ayra will sleep on the same bed la kan. i know many many many mothers do tis, esp breastfeeding mothers sbb sgt senang hehehe.. so caner? kena tido luar selalu la nampaknyer hehehe..

yg penting kat sini, ajoy n i are trying to do our best for ayra of course..
