rock-a-bye-baby..

baby center says "A good bedtime is usually around 730pm - 8pm. Any later and your baby will get overtired and find falling asleep difficult. Your baby may not appear tired late at night, and may seem energetic and lively. But that's often a sign that it's past her bedtime."

i cringed when i read tis. no wonder ayra is wide awake even at midnight.

how are we supposed to establish such early bedtime when tats around the time ajoy and i arrive at ajoy's parents house from work. after makan n solat baru gerak balik to our house. tat is usually ard 830pm - 9pm. by the time we reach home i know ayra is already over stimulated and wont sleep.

sometimes she wants to feed and will doze of for a while. like 20 mins. and then she's awake and ready to play.

baby center suggested these:

Begin to develop a bedtime routine
If you haven't already done so, start a bedtime routine which could include:
  • playing a quiet game; - we have our massage + game - didnt work
  • a bath; - bbsitter da mandikan, takkan nk mandikan lagi hahaha
  • changing her into pyjamas; - also already changed by babysitter lor..
  • reading a bedtime story; - ayra's short attention span wudnt allow me to do tis. can try again.
  • singing a lullaby; - i can sing 3 rounds of part of yr world by lil mermaid (her fave song) and she is still awake. she'll be calmed and subdued la. but not sleepy enuf for bedtime.
  • a gentle massage; - almost every nite buat nih
  • a kiss goodnight. - all the time kut hahaha

so yeah.. we're still struggling to put ayra early to bed. if she's asleep by midnite tu da kira victory da tu wakakakakaka.. i guess we'll just hv to sabar until the time comes when she sleeps earlier and longer hehehehe.. guess for now, lets just think positive that she just misses both of us and wants to play with us for as long as she can until she's super tired.
